Founded by Tom Hix and Dan Rubenstein in 1985, Hix Rubenstein Companies is an innovative land development company focusing primarily on resort and residential development. We are a full service company with expertise in; land acquisition, entitlement processing, infrastructure development, vertical and final product build-out.
Hix Rubenstein Companies has a real estate portfolio that exceeds 8,000 acres in California and Oregon, and was the developer of the CordeValle Golf Club located in San Martin, California, which has consistently ranked in the top 25 golf clubs in the country for the last five years. We are currently developing the Pronghorn Golf Club located in Bend, Oregon which features a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and a Tom Fazio Championship golf course side-by-side. The Nicklaus golf course was voted the #2 Best New Private golf course by Golf Digest in 2005 and the community was recently voted #17 out 100 top communities in the country by Travel & Leisure Golf. In addition to Pronghorn, the company has various active real estate developments around the western states.
Executive Staff
Mr. Hix is the founder and President of Hix Rubenstein Companies. He is intimately involved in all details of the company’s current development projects, and personally oversees all divisions of the company. Mr. Hix is responsible for conceptualizing each of the projects, forming the various entities, and overseeing each phase. Mr. Hix has been involved in the development and management of real estate for over 22 years.
Joe Polverari, General Counsel
Mr. Polverari has primary responsibility for all legal and contractual issues of Hix Rubenstein Companies. As a representative of partners in real estate development partnerships and limited liability companies, Mr. Polverari is responsible for the formulation, negotiation and drafting of contracts, partnership agreements and other contract documents (with public and private entities) for the creation and development of golf course, resort and residential developments.
Neal Aronson, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Aronson has primary responsibility for the finance, development and management of Hix Rubenstein’s residential resorts and golf course communities. His experience in financial and project management; local, state, and federal agencies, including the Army Corp. of Engineers and Fish and Wildlife Services; and community activists is invaluable in the process of acquiring entitlements and permits for each project. He has been involved in the planning and design of Hix Rubenstein projects in California, Arizona, Idaho and Oregon.
Ron Davis, Site Planning and Golf Construction
Mr. Davis has primary responsibility for managing the planning, construction and operations of Hix Rubenstein’s golf courses. He was instrumental in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of the CordeValle Golf Course in San Martin, CA and the Pronghorn Golf Course in Bend, OR. He has also been involved in the planning and design of proposed Tuscany Hills Golf Course in Copperopolis, CA.
